Make a photo background white online
BgClear removes the original background and lets you place white behind the remaining subject. The selected white fill is #FFFFFF, or RGB 255, 255, 255. Processing runs in your browser without a BgClear account.
Open the photo toolChoose white, then export
- Select a JPG, PNG or WebP photo with a subject that stands out from its background.
- Wait for model loading and background removal. First-use download time depends on your connection and processing mode.
- Inspect the preview for missing details or leftover background.
- In Background, select White. Choose PNG or JPG in Format, then download.
Changing the fill is different from correcting the cutout. White will not restore a part of the subject that the model removed.

A PNG file is not necessarily transparent; it can contain an opaque white fill. JPG cannot preserve transparency and uses lossy compression. Check downloaded dimensions and details rather than assuming every processing mode preserves all original image information.
Check the edges before using the photo
- Halo: inspect on a dark background to see whether old background color remains around the subject.
- Missing details: check handles, gaps, hair and pale areas of the subject. Use a more contrasted original or a manual editor if needed.
- Unexpected white: confirm that you selected White rather than a custom off-white color. A viewer's white canvas alone does not prove the file contains a white fill.
- Logos and text: AI segmentation can damage lettering and fine lines. Prefer an original transparent/vector asset or manual editing when the result is inaccurate.
Check the destination's rules separately
For product listings, background color is only one requirement. Check current marketplace and category rules for dimensions, framing and allowed edits before submitting. Our Amazon background guide is a separate reference, not a guarantee of listing acceptance.
Passport and visa photos: do not assume digital background replacement is allowed. Follow the issuing authority's current instructions; a white background alone does not make a photo compliant.
