Background remover without uploading photos

BgClear's background-removal workflow processes selected image files in your browser instead of sending them to a BgClear image-processing server. You can review the cutout and download the result on your device.

Local image processing does not mean the website makes no network requests. The page, JavaScript, AI models and advertising services may load over the internet.

Remove a photo background locally

  1. Open the main tool and select a JPG, PNG or WebP photo.
  2. Allow the selected AI model to download. First use may take longer than later processing.
  3. Inspect the cutout, especially hair, gaps and low-contrast edges.
  4. Choose Transparent and PNG to retain transparency, or choose a solid background before exporting.

Start with a clear portrait or an opaque product. Logos, text-heavy graphics, illustrations and transparent objects can produce incomplete or damaged cutouts.

What still needs the internet?

The browser downloads code and model assets from external services. High Quality Mode uses a larger model and may require substantially more memory and download time. Cache availability varies, so a future visit may need another download.

Advertising and ordinary website requests are separate from photo processing. The statement that images are processed locally is not a promise of no telemetry, no third-party requests, or zero risk. See the privacy policy for the site's broader data practices.

Inspect a processing session

Use a non-sensitive test photo. A browser inspection provides evidence about that session, not a permanent guarantee about every future version of the site.

  1. Open your browser's developer tools and select the Network panel before selecting a photo.
  2. Keep the log visible and run one image through the tool. Observe model downloads separately from outgoing requests.
  3. Inspect outgoing request payloads for image content. Do not rely only on the file extension, content type or HTTP method: payloads can be encoded.
  4. Repeat for the processing mode you intend to use. A result for the standard model does not automatically describe another mode or a future release.

If an unexpected request appears, stop using sensitive images and investigate it. Do not share raw network logs publicly: they may contain identifiers or other private data.
